Sunday 15th August all day, Dartmoor, Devon
Taw Marsh & Nine Maidens Womens Pilgrimage with Dartmoors Daughter
We have co-created this beautiful day for you in the wilderness. There is also the option of camping of the Friday and Saturday night beforehand. Please contact to discuss this. Those who camp will share gentle yoga and yoga nidra (no extra charge). Immerse yourself in nature.
The Belstone range of tors and Taw Marsh offer some of the most stunning scenery on north Dartmoor. Walking a circular route from the beautiful village of Belstone, we'll walk up along majestic granite tors; pause awhile at the Bronze Age burial circle with legend of dancing maidens turned to stone; wonder about the ancient practice of lighting fires on hilltops as we pass underneath Cosdon Beacon; and hear how the River Taw inspired 'Tarka the Otter' as we wander along its pretty bank. There are a couple of possible wild swim spots along the way.
We will end our walk at a beautiful private garden through a gate on the moor. And share a delicious hot supper together around a fire. If the weather isn’t conducive to sitting outside, we will either erect a tarp in the garden or we have the option to use a room at the local village hall.
