Tuesday 20 September 630-9pm
at No4 Station Yard, Ashburton, Devon
Join Virginia for this evening of self care using Ayurveda, and Yoga. All practices will be adapted for the needs of the group and will be accessible for everyone. A handout will be given with sleep tips.
Sleep is essential to our health and well-being. Quality sleep regulates all of our body systems, aids digestion and elimination, immune functioning, energy levels, hormone balance and much more. Sleep is an issue for many of us, we may find it difficult to get to sleep or we may have a tendency to wake in the early hours. Ayurveda and Yoga have some specific guidelines and practices that help you to regulate, rest and restore whilst enjoying good sound sleep.
Virginia will give an introduction to Ayurveda, the holistic Indian 'science of life'. There will be information on sleep and why it is so essential to our health and well-being. We will discuss Ayurvedic practices, foods and herbs that can be helpful in regulating and promoting restful sleep, and therefore bring the body into a state of balance and wellness. Some light refreshments will be provided during the discussion.
The Yoga will be restorative and restful. We will enjoy two practices of Yoga Nidra (meaning Yoga sleep) as part of the practice. The Yoga Nidra will be recorded and sent to you so you can continue to use this at home. As we are approaching Autumn this is a time of releasing and letting go. You will be encouraged and supported in releasing tension, softening and resting.
Sliding scale payment from £9-£27, please pay what you can afford. Please contact Virginia to book.
